The Comedy of Errors by William Shakespeare
Set in the swinging 60s, the interpretation was informed by text from R.D.Laing's
'The Divided Self.' Laing wrote about a young schizophrenic who was rehabilitated
after seeing Felini's film 'La Strada.' Shakespeare's comedy was framed by the
device of a young disturbed woman who on reading the play and projecting herself
into the story, heals her divided self just as surely as Antipholus of Syracuse finds
completion when he discovers his twin brother.
'I am only a cork floating on the ocean'- R.D.Laing's casebook study
'I to the world am like a drop of water, That in the ocean seeks another drop.'
-Antipholos of Syracuse
