Future
Having successfully completed the direction of "On the Brink" with
Johnny B, I am currently working with the Turner Prize winner Jeremy
Deller on the development of his public art event for the Folkestone
Triennial , "Tales of Time". Inspired by Jacques Tati and silent
movie films, this will culminate in live performances and
interventions in Folkestone over the summer.
Other current and
future projects include clown routines for Drama College productions
of Kurt Weil's "Happy End" and the musical "The Big Top." Richard
Hougham has invited me to contribute to his forthcoming Dionysus Body
Enactment performance. I shall direct the Circus Space Degree
Ensemble show at the Riverside Studios, London from July 16th -19th.
From 26th July to 2nd August I shall be running a course at the
Gormonston Summer School," Stage works", in Ireland. My course is
called "New Wine into Old Skins,"" and will explore a methodology
that synthesises Le Coq, Laban and Stanislavsky approaches in
examining Irish and Anglo-Irish playwrights, such as Behan, Synge and
Mcdonagh. I shall teach on the Laban International Course in
Eastbourne, England August 2nd - 9th.
Plays I would like to explore in the future are:
- 'Red Noses' by Peter Barnes
- 'Mother' by Bertolt Brecht
- 'The Threepenny Opera' by Bertolt Brecht
- 'Man Equals Man' by Bertolt Brecht
